CITY FACILITIES
The City approved the adoption of the Leadership In Energy And Environmental Design (LEED) "Certified" Level of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Rating System for all Department of Public Works new design and construction building projects 7,500 square feet or larger, effective July 1, 2003. About 49 projects totaling over 1.4 million square feet are complete or well on their way to a LEED Certified or higher level. The City is now recommending a LEED Silver minimum requirement for future facilities projects.
