Finding EPA RMAN Content Suggestions

The United Stated Environmental Protection Agency provides a Comprehensive Procurement Guideline (CPG) as well as a Recovered Materials Advisory Notice (RMAN) that give suggested recycled material contents for a number of products in different categories. The Environmentally Preferable Purchasing (EPP) program requires that you include these recycled content percentages in the product specifications for items you purchase.

There are two ways to find the recycled content material suggested for the products you use or have an interest in using.

Once on the products page, click on the product category link that best relates to the product you are looking for. There are 8 product categories; construction, landscaping, non-paper, paper, park and rec., transportation, vehicular, and miscellaneous. Once you find the product you are searching for, add the suggested recycled content percentage to your product specification.

The EPA website provides great information on other ways to conserve, and increase the use of sustainable products in your everyday lives. Some products may not be included in either section. For questions or comments, please feel free to contact us at [email protected]
